Dr. David Fairclough
(Principal Osteopath/Owner)


Karen Fairclough
(Practice Manager/ Receptionist)

Dr David Fairclough and Karen Fairclough (Husband and Wife team) have worked together in the Macedon Ranges for 20 years. Dr Fairclough originally trained in the UK as a sports and manipulative therapist and carried out further education in Australia at Victoria University where he completed a five year double degree in Osteopathy and completed a post graduate diploma in Animal Biomechanical Medicine in Box Hill. For more information on treating animals, and appointment booking please visit our website https://www.rangesabm.com.au/ . Dr. Lois Groves (Osteopath)

Dr. Lois Groves is an English-trained osteopath who graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1988. She worked in two busy osteopathic clinics in London before migrating to Australia in 1990.

After working in a few practices as an associate and locum in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne & the Mornington Peninsula, she opened up her own clinic in Berwick in 1992. She sold it in 2017, after starting work here at Gisborne Osteopathy.

Lois enjoys treating all age groups, from babies to the elderly. They all have different needs at different stages of their lives, and it’s this variety that she likes. She is enthusiastic about helping her patients achieve their health goals, whilst being realistic about their individual circumstances.

She has a structural approach, using soft tissue massage, joint articulation and manipulation among other manual therapy techniques, and exercise prescription, which she keeps simple to assist with patient compliance.

Lois has a special interest in neck problems & headaches, the management of disc injuries, overuse injuries such as tennis elbow, and in the musculoskeletal problems in expectant and post-partum mothers.

She has lived in the Macedon Ranges since 2013 with her physiotherapist husband (who also works locally) and two school-aged children. However they spent regular holidays and weekends here for many years before making the move.

Lois enjoys walking, gardening, being a part of the local community, and is a volunteer foster carer and puppy raiser for Seeing Eye Dogs, a division of Vision Australia.

Dr. Kyle Collins (Osteopath)

Dr. Kyle Collins completed his qualifications in Melbourne at Victoria University, with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Health Science (Osteopathy).  

Kyle has a passion and enthusiasm for helping every patient achieving their personal goals. His holistic approach to osteopathy incorporates the caring nature of manual therapy with the excitement of movement and rehabilitation to get you back doing the things you love. Kyle has a strong knowledge and experience with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, and will provide you with a personalized treatment approach that is best suited to the individual.  

Treatment itself, will be based on a variety of hands-on osteopathic techniques. Some of these may include; trigger point release, soft tissue massage, stretching, mobilization and manipulation. These will have a focus on providing you with symptomatic relief and improving your overall range of motion and therefore function. Kyle will than take the time to explain your diagnosis, whilst providing you with a personalized management plan. 

Kyle himself, is a local around the Macedon Ranges attending Braemar College. He has also been involved with a variety of sporting organizations including Football at Riddell’s Creek and completing at a State Level for Basketball in Victoria. Kyle has a genuine enthusiasm for treating and building rapport with all members of the community, from the elderly to office workers, athletes, weekend warriors, adolescents and chronic pain sufferers. 

Dr Matthew Ellis (osteopath)

Dr. Matthew Ellis completed his qualifications in Melbourne at Victoria University, with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Health Science (Osteopathy).

Matthew is enthusiastic about educating and empowering patients to return to their optimal health/function physically and mentally. He enjoys setting achievable goals with his patients giving them the tools to help manage their pain outside the treatment room. He has a strong knowledge base and experience of a wide range of musculoskeletal condition, utilising best-practice evidence to help inform individualised treatment approaches for his patients.

Treatment itself will be based on a variety of hands-on osteopathic techniques. Some of these may include; soft tissue massage, trigger point release, stretching, cupping, dry needling, joint mobilisations and manipulations. These will aim to provide symptomatic and therefore improvements in range of motion and function. Matthew will then formulate an individualised management plan that aligns with the patient’s goals and presenting complaint.

When Matthew is not in the clinic, he is either on the basketball court in the gym or taking his dog on lots of walks. He also enjoys spending time with his partner and friends, enjoying the outdoors.
